EducaDirector – Michael Hartland
Michael’s expertise in English and in education is recognised internationally. In the UK he is a member of the Secondary English Committee for NATE (National Association for the Teaching of English) and an Associate of NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education). Cambridge-educated and a former headteacher of a UK day and boarding school, Michael has also led English departments in three separate high-performing schools for 15 years.
EAL Specialist – Jenny Hartland
With an MA in English from Cambridge, and TESOL qualified, Jenny is also an accredited copywriter, copy editor, proofreader and tutor. She has taught in both independent schools and adult education. Her experience in international language schools, literacy projects, and as an EAL examiner, brings an added depth of expertise to her tuition. She offers a distinctive individualised curriculum for each student, tailored to their specific linguistic needs.
French and German Tutor – Frankie Hartland
Frankie has completed a first class two years on her Integrated Masters in Languages degree, has won university academic awards, and is about to study at Strasbourg University. As an experienced tutor, she offers French and German up to and including A Level. Her students have been delighted with the quality and friendliness of her online lessons.

Our Story
‘Inspiring and Nurturing Excellence’ has been the ethos at the heart of all that we have done since starting with our very first student. With strong academic backgrounds ourselves, we were determined to offer individualisation and excellence. And now that the numbers of agents and learners we work with has skyrocketed, we continue to treat each individual as unique.
We know that growth takes time.
But we know what great and rapid progress is possible for every single person we work with.
And these clients now come from all around the world.
These include would-be Oxbridge graduates, master’s students, pupils in primary and secondary schools, as well as adults in the workplace wanting to be able to communicate in fluent English with their customers or develop their skills by gaining further qualifications.
In spring 2025, we launched our flagship Academic EAL programme for international students. This combines the academic experience of director Michael Hartland with the EAL expertise of Jenny Hartland. Together we enable learners to make rapid progress in their chosen course or desired qualification including IELTS, CAT4 and other language and admission tests.
Lan was studying for a degree in fashion design, but wanted to take the next step in her dream of launching a sustainable fashion brand in Vietnam. We helped her successfully gain a place on the master’s degree she had chosen. Read Lam’s testimonial.
